Lacklustre trade continues

The Sensex has dipped further to a low of 17,586. It is now up 61 points at 17,601. - Markets pare gains - Sensex firm; realty index up 2% - Bajaj Hindustan up on good Q3 results - Novartis soars on getting patent right - Sensex strong in opening trades - MBL Infra soars 18% at opening bell The Nifty is up 21 points at 5,265. ___________________________________________________ (Updated at 1206 hrs) The Sensex has continued with lacklustre movements. The index has slipped marginally to a low of 17,600 - down 177 points from the day"s high. Earlier in the day the Sensex had surged 237 points to a high of 17,777 on the back of positive sentiments from its Asian counterpart. The Sensex is now up 86 points at 17,627. The Nifty is up 25 points at 5,270. The BSE realty index has jumped 2% to 4,164. The metal, PSU and IT indices have added over 1% each. Auto and realty stocks are the stars in today"s market. DLF has gained 2.3% at Rs 399. Jaiprakash Associates has added 2% to Rs 165. Reliance Infrastructure is up 1% at Rs 1,174. Hero Honda has jumped 2.3% to Rs 1,685. Maruti Suzuki has moved up 1.7% to Rs 1,458. Other stocks which have gained are Tata Power, NTPC, Sterlite and SBI. IT stocks - Wipro, TCS and Infosys are up 1% each. However, Reliance has slipped 1% to Rs 1,092 following the second treasury stake sale. The BSE market breadth is fairly positive. Out of 2,863 stocks traded 2,231 have advanced while 577 have declined.
